Postpartum progression of chronic kidney disease in patients with chronic glomerulonephritis

چکیده

Background: In the recent years, pregnancy outcomes in women with primary chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) have been encouraging despite increased incidence of complications and preterm birth. However, impact on CKD progression remains understudied.
Aim: To evaluate effect postpartum period patients CGN.
Materials methods: This was an observational longitudinal study. The study group included 40 CGN G1G3b, who had deliveries from January 2009 to November 2022. control 35 no pregnancies after diagnosed. Serum creatinine estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were assessed during follow up, recording development G5.
Results: annual GFR decline -4.6 [-8.0; -2.5] ml/min/1.73 m2, -1.8 [-5.8; +1.5] m2 (p = 0.056). After complicated (preeclampsia, placental insufficiency, increase proteinuria, worsening arterial hypertension, acute kidney injury), -6.4 [-13.4; -3.5] which higher than controls 0.042). There significant differences survival without decrease by 30%, 50% G5 between groups. G5-free lower that 0.022) those uncomplicated 0.009).
Eleven (11) main 3/35 reached G5. time delivery 4.83 [2.08; 7.07] years. Among end-stage renal failure childbirth, there significantly more G3, proteinuria 1 g/day pregnancy, hypertension at baseline preeclampsia, injury, less 37 weeks gestation, neonates requiring treatment intensive care unit, unfavorable outcomes.
Conclusion: Renal pregnant not different did pregnancies; however, function decline.

Hepatitis C Increases the Risk of Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease in Patients with Glomerulonephritis

Background/Aims: We have shown that hepatitis C does not increase the risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD), but it is not known if hepatitis C worsens progression of existing CKD. Methods: We retrospectively identified patients with primary glomerulonephritis on biopsy over 4 years, evaluating the progression of CKD over time. Results: The cohort consisted of 111 patients: 21% were p...

Evaluation of Hypothyroidism in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in Western Iran

Background and Objective: Chronic kidney disease (CKD)  determined by permanent kidney damage. Due to the similarity of clinical symptoms of hypothyroidism with CKD, hypothyroidism may be neglected and remain untreated. The goal of our study was to evaluate the rate of hypothyroidism in CKD patients who need hemodialysis. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional research. The sampling ...

Evaluation of Glomerular Filtration Rate Estimating Formulas in Diabetic Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

Objective: Measurement of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is the best determinant in assessment of kidney function for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. As extremely accurate methods of GFR measurement (i.e. Inulin clearance) are expensive and Time-consuming and due to limitations of the 24 hour urine collection method, some formula have been developed for the GFR measurement. Here we have ...
